"We had a great time with Paul who showed us all the important aspects of how to prepare for the unexpected and that sailing is not a science but an art. His caution to us as trainee skippers that we should watch our crew 'as they are trying to kill themselves, sink the boat and kill us', will always stay with me."
André and Andrew achieved their RYA Day Skipper qualifications and are about to head off on their first bareboat charter in Greece after doing a 3-day 'charter-prep' with me and their sons who will be acting as crew.

"Thank you so much for a brilliant week aboard. Lots of sailing, great tips, great company and life stories. Paul instills confidence and will make you feel safe, even when presented with a challenge. We got on board very hot, sweaty and nervous, just to get off a week later refreshed, revitalised and full of plans for more sailing. Edifying and fun - two thumbs up!"
Adriana and Tiago have just bought a Halmatic 30 which they are in the process of refitting before they set off on their own sailing adventure to move the boat from the UK to the Canaries.
"Having sailed dinghies as a youngster I took a fast track Day Skipper course with the intention of being able to charter yachts for holidays. Paul instructed the practical, though was also able to cover and reinforce a lot of the theory as well. Over the 5 days we covered the course content and more, because Paul knew I would go and charter something if he passed me he made sure I had the necessary skill to do so. By the end of the course Paul had given pointers for further development and the confidence to make that first charter. He can tie a mean Monkey's Fist too!"
Marcus achieved his RYA Day Skipper qualification and went on to organise his first bareboat charter in Greece. Hoping to see Marcus again for the Balearics Island-hopping adventure in September.
